What a great day! It was cloudy and it started to get cooler in the afternoon, but we still had a lovely day together.
We had a bit of a tragedy yesterday afternoon.....greyhound met chicken....bad result for the poor chicken. So now we have 5 instead of 6. Rebbecca (our black chicken) managed to fly over the fence and get out of the chicken coop! So this morning Dad and Darren went to Bunnings to get some lattice work to extend the height of the fence door. It should solve the problem. We already tried clipping her wings. Note: Chicken feathers give the dog bad gas.....
After that we had a quick lunch and got the kids ready and went for a drive to Mt. Jagged which is about 10 minutes down the road to the Alexandrina Cheese Company. You can see the jersey cows that they use to make the BEST milk and cheese EVER!!! They have a big glass window looking into the factory and you can see them making the cheese. We bought a cheese platter that came with 5 different cheeses, crackers, pickled onions, gherkins, apples, lettuce and local olives. It was quite busy there so we decided to take it home and eat it. They sell milkshakes there made from fresh, full cream jersey cows milk. I'm getting that next time!!!!
We came home and enjoyed our cheese.
Here are the pictures from today:
What a great afternoon!
